TOLEDO (WTVG) - Up to 500 people were without power in east Toledo earlier Friday morning after a car crashed into a power pole on Navarre Ave. near White St.
According to Toledo Police, Alejandro Carmona, 31, of Oregon, was traveling eastbound on Navarre just before 3 a.m. when the vehicle he was in lost control, striking a power pole and causing the car to land on its roof.
The pole fell over several live wires and was hanging across Navarre, making it impassable.
As of 10 a.m., Toledo Edison's outage map said the outage is affecting up to 20 customers. The company expects to have the outage resolved by 11 a.m.
Carmona was transported to St. Charles Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to TPD, alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash.
Navarre was closed between Valleywood and Belt for an extended period Friday morning.
