ProMedica apologizes for alleged abuse, closes autism center until further notice

ProMedica brass are apologizing for what they are calling "overly aggressive techniques" at the ProMedica Bixby Autism Center in Adrian Michigan. They also announced the center is closed until further notice. Dr. Brian Kaminski MD, Vice President for Patient Safety and Quality along with Dr. Kent Bishop MD who is the Chief Experience Officer at ProMedica are issuing a video statement about the charges.

Dr. Bishop says "We at ProMedica are deeply saddened by the recent disheartening incidents at the Center for Autism in Adrian Michigan. While reviewing video recordings for educational purposes at the center in Adrian, ProMedica leadership became aware of an incident involving a behavior technician using overly assertive behavioral modification techniques with a child during a one on one session. These techniques are not approved by ProMedica."
