TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Another round of layoffs from Promedica will be affecting around 100 jobs. That’s according to a staff wide email obtained by 13abc.
In that email from CEO Randy Oostra, he says healthcare market trends and declining reimbursements are contributing to challenges for the organization.
Oostra says that is resulting in a reduction in workforce. The email says some employees volunteered to be part of the workforce reduction. The rest were notified that their positions were eliminated.
The exact positions of these workers was not specified.
This job reduction comes amid 100 employees laid off in August of 2018.
Promedica sent this statement to 13abc on Wednesday regarding this most recent job reduction:
“ProMedica regularly evaluates its staffing model and system processes to ensure effective and efficient operations while continuing to deliver high quality, compassionate care. This week ProMedica experienced a small workforce reduction that affected a fraction of a percent of its workforce. The reduction was related to the reorganization of some operational functions across our system. We empathize with the affected employees and are committed to assisting them through their transition. Our Human Resources department is working closely with affected employees to provide support and opportunities to return if a future job opening meets their needs.”
