SYLVANIA (WTVG) - Random drug testing is coming to the Sylvania School District for the 2019-2020 school year. Students at Northview and Southview who take part in an activity outside of class could be tested. That includes sports, extracurricular activities, school dances and any student who drives to school.
School Board members voted unanimously to put the new policy in place last month. The district held an informational meeting Thursday night.
While this policy is new to Sylvania Schools, similar policies are in place at many other districts around the region.
