Mayor wants $1 million to remove riverfront salt pile

TOLEDO- (13abc, Action News) - Toledo had prime real estate along the Maumee River downtown.
A developer is about to break ground at the Marina District.
But the other side of the river needs some development.
The way the western side looks will change slightly after Toledo seeks to remove a salt pile along the river.
The Kapszukiewicz administration may seek $1 million in this year's budget to build a new salt barn to house the tons of salt currently piled at the downtown riverfront site.
However, the larger goal of improving the view along the western side could be a challenge.
