(WTVG) - I-75 Northbound remains closed Thursday following a second accident near the Michigan border, and now officials have closed down additional roads to try to divert traffic around the scene.
Highway police have been diverting traffic off I-75 at the Alexis Road exit and forced onto the Southbound side of the highway since the accident occurred. Now the Ohio Department of Transportation is diverting traffic on I-280. The I-75 on ramp from I-280 is now closed, and drivers are being redirected onto I-75 SB.
Police say two tractor trailers collided on I-75, causing serious injuries. The highway is expected to remain closed for some time while they work to clear the scene. No word yet on what injuries may have been sustained during the accident.
The accident occurred shortly after police had cleared the scene of another accident earlier this morning. Police say no one was injured when a dump truck flipped over, spilling its contents, which were reportedly made of a byproduct of human waste, onto the highway.
