Salvation Army accepts applications for Christmas assistance

TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - The Salvation Army is already thinking about Christmas.

Applications from Lucas County residents needing help will be accepted later this month.

Applications will be taken October 10-13 from 9:00am until 11:00am and from 1:00 until 3:00pm. A second round of applications will be taken at the Salvation Army at 620 N. Erie Street on October 23 and October 25 through October 27 during the same hours.

On October 24, applications will be accepted from 1:00-6:00pm.

In order to apply, documentation is required including a picture ID for all adults in the household, proof of income including a pay stub, unemployment or SS/SSI/SSD statement. There must also be proof of address and birth certificates for each child in the household.

Bring children's Christmas wishes and clothing sizes.

The Salvation Army is part of 13abc's Hope for the Holidays project and distributed more than 25,100 toys last year to local children.
