Sensory Pathway helps fidgety kids focus in the classroom

MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) It looks like something you would find on a playground, but the sensory pathway at Fort Miami elementary school is a learning tool for kids.

This pathway will helps fidgety kids focus this school year.

"A student who is looking tired, not engaging with the teacher, maybe the teacher will say they need a break, or a student who cant sit still...on the other end of the spectrum, then they can have the type of break," Tricia Samuel, Director of educational services for Maumee Schools, said.

Students are invited to jump or hop down a path of colorful decals on the wall and the floor

It was made this summer, and helps kids with balance, coordination and other motor skills.

At the end of the course, the kids have one command left - take a deep breath".
