Two different storm systems could bring a threat of severe weather to the area Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The risk for severe weather will increase on Wednesday. A few isolated storms are possible early in the day, but the highest risk for stronger or severe storms is during the afternoon and evening hours Wednesday.

The area is under a "Moderate Risk" Wednesday for severe storms. The damaging wind threat is the highest with 70 mph gusts possible in the strongest storms. There is a tornado risk as the atmosphere will have wind shear, which can twist thunderstorms into supercells. There is also a risk for large hail 1" in diameter or larger.
