TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) Toledo police are investigating an incident at a local school involving students and inappropriate images. Detectives are looking into the case involving kids at Central Catholic High School. A Toledo police spokesperson says the department received the report Tuesday.
Police will not go into specifics, but confirm to 13abc the investigation involves a student and inappropriate images. A police report indicates the suspect is a 17-year-old boy who may have purposely and improperly obtained a photo of a female student via "Air-Dropping" after the female student admitted to allowing the student to use her phone for a short period of time. The Dean of students told police a female student admitted to taking and possessing the picture of herself covered in her bra on her phone. The teen denies ever forwarding the picture to the suspect. During the investigation, the 17-year-old boy's parents were interviewed regarding their son's possible involvement in the matter while the student's phone was searched. The report states a search by the Dean of Students revealed no inappropriate photos of the female student. A Central Catholic School administrator gave police a list of several current students whose photos may have been inappropriately obtained by the male student at some point. The sergeant was informed all parents were notified February 8 that their students' names and or photos may be involved in the on-going investigation. Investigators say no charges have been filed at this point. The police department's Special Victim's Unit continues to look into the case. 13abc reached out to Central Catholic High School for a comment. A school spokesperson issued this statement: "Toledo police were called to Central Catholic High School on Monday, February 12, per Diocesan policy, to investigate a concern following inappropriate behavior between minor students. A report was filed by TPD. Central Catholic cannot and will not release any information regarding minors." 13abc will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest.
