Suspect in May murder enters Not Guilty plea

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Toledo man arrested for murder earlier this month has entered a plea of Not Guilty on charges of complicity to commit murder, assault and illegal discharge of a firearm.

Darius Stenson, 19, is in custody for the murder of Ta-Tyanna Hamilton, 26. Bond was set at $1 million during his first court appearance. That bond was continued on Tuesday. He will return to court for a pre-trial hearing on July 16th.

According to Toledo Police, Ta-Tyanna was shot in the 2800 block of Chestnut Wednesday afternoon at about 2:40 PM and was later pronounced deceased at Mercy St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Toledo Police say that three people were shot stemming from a fight at an afternoon house party Wednesday.

While officers were administering Narcan to an unrelated overdose victim on Lagrange, a woman ran up to them saying she had been shot at a house party at Dexter and Chestnut.

Stenson was taken downtown for questioning where it was discovered he had also been shot.
