ProMedica's new tower at the Toledo Hospital location is set to open in less than a year. This is a $400 million dollar project that will take three years to complete. The new hospital will have over 300 new rooms including a new maternity area for labor and delivery as well as postpartum beds. That unit will also have 9 new maternity beds for babies who are born addicted.
The hospital doctors and nurses helped in the design of the new facility so that it functions better for the delivery of care. Each floor will have ICU beds along with step down rooms so patients can seamlessly transition through the stages of recovery. The old Toledo Hospital building will no longer be used for patient care when the rooms are transferred to the new wing. The first new patient will be checked into the new hospital in July of 2019.
