Submissions are open for the annual "Life on Lake Erie" photo contest
Calling all amateur photographers! The Ohio Lake Erie Commission is seeking submissions for the 27th annual "Life on Lake Erie" photo contest. The yearly event invites amateur photographers to submit their favorite photos of Lake Erie and the surrounding landscape.
The contest is open to amateur photographers over the age of 18. The photos must have been taken sometime between August 1, 2018 and Just 31, 2019 and must depict Ohio's Lake Erie watershed. They can depict shots of the lake itself or surrounding landscapes and can include shots of activities like boating, fishing, swimming, people, wildlife, and events.
"Lake Erie is one of our greatest natural resources, and protecting it is a priority of my administration," Governor Mike DeWine said. "This contest gives amateur photographers an opportunity to show off their talents while capturing the beauty of the lake."

Winning entries will be announced at the fall meeting of the Ohio Lake Erie Commission and winning photos will be displayed on the Commission's website, social media platforms and on publications to promote Lake Erie. Winners will be featured in a gallery tour coordinated by the commission and local partners to provide opportunities for the public to view the photos. The photo display will appear throughout the year at locations such as the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Maumee Bay Lodge, Great Lakes Science Center, Lake Erie Shores & Islands Tourism Center, and Ohio Statehouse.
