TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Amtrak says it has had to cancel and delay passenger trains between Chicago and Toledo as a result of the derailment in Swanton
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said busses were arranged for travelers late Thursday night, adding that no one had to stay in the Toledo station overnight. With the derailment in Swanton, service to and from Chicago through Toledo has been delayed and/or canceled.
The company expects the rail line to reopen at some point “late tonight” and there will be a delayed departure from Chicago to Toledo tonight.
Magliari said refunds were a possibility on a case-by-case basis, asking customers to reach out to Amtrak customer service.
