TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo Police Officers Daniel Balon and Dustin Rausch took the oath to protect and serve, and they've gone above and beyond for their job.
While checking on a domestic violence victim, the victim told the officers that the suspect had access to her apartment and her landlord was not able to change the locks.
So the officers bought and installed new locks to keep her safe.
"She just seemed more relieved because she didn't have to have here doors unsecure," Balon said. "We checked her windows and make sure he couldn't get in."
The officers said they drive by the woman's house at least once a day during their shift.
