Fate of Hundreds of Students Graduation Up to State Lawmakers

The Toledo Public School Board voted to support the passing of House Bill 630. It would extend the graduation pathways program for students. This keeps steady the graduation requirements for students.

The Pathways program allows other factors to be taken into consideration to allow a student to graduate like attendance and real life job experience. This helps if the student hasn't received all the points necessary on the state testing to qualify for graduation.

The Ohio Senate is expected to talk about the bill on Wednesday but no date has been set for a vote and thousands of students in the state are waiting to hear if the requirements have changed for their graduation. TPS board members expressed great frustration over the delay in a vote.
