Thousands vote in "Best of Toledo" 2017

More than 34,000 voters selected their favorites from hot dogs to grocery stores in the "Best of Toledo" edition of Toledo City Paper.
The popular annual edition honors businesses, individuals and non-profit groups chosen as the "best" by the publication's readers.
13abc's Diane Larson and Lee Conklin were voted "Best anchor duo" again this year. Jeff Smith and Sashem Brey were voted best "morning show" with 13abc honored as best local TV station. 13abc Chief Meteorologist Jay Berschback grabbed the top spot in the weather category. 13abc's Joe Nugent was runner-up for sportscaster.
Best radio station went to 101.5 The River and Best Local DJ went to Denny Schaffer of Q105.5.
The German-American festival was named "Best Festival", Distant Cousinz was "Best Band", and Biggby was honored as "Best Coffee Shop". Toledo Area Humane Society won "Charity/Non-Profit" while Notre Dame Academy was voted Best High School. Toledo institution Tony Packo's was named top "hot dog" and Monnette's Market picked first in the local grocery category.
A party recognizing all the winners will be held Friday, March 9 at 6:30pm at Premiere Catering on Heatherdowns Blvd. Tickets for the event are $35 each.
