SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG) - Erie County officials are investigating three overdoses by Erie County Jail inmates Monday morning.
Corrections officers found three inmates overdosing around 4 a.m. after they noticed unusual movement in a jail dormitory, Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth told the Sandusky Register.
Corrections staff used Narcan and then took the inmates to Firelands Regional Medical Center. All three inmates have been released from the hospital.
The sheriff's office suspects the drug was an opiate that possibly contained fentanyl, smuggled into the jail by an inmate.
No one has been charged for the incident.
