Three teens injured in Van Wert Co. Crash

JACKSON TWP., Ohio (WTVG) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred around 1 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Convoy and Converse Roselm Roads.

A 1996 Jeep, driven by Jacksyn Nichols, 16, of Delphos, was traveling eastbound on Convoy Road. Nichols lost control and went off the right side of the roadway. The Jeep overturned several times and came to rest in a farm field. The right rear passenger, Tanner Mathewson, 17, was ejected as the Jeep overturned and taken to Mercy St. Vincent in Toledo with serious injuries.

Nichols and the right front passenger, Collin Young, 17, were both wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and received minor visible injuries. They were taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
