Toledo Area Humane Society rescues dozens of cats from home

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo Area Humane Society calls a recent investigation by cruelty officers a nightmare.

Thursday, 14 cats were taken from a home and another 10 were rescued on Friday.

According to the organization's Facebook page, there are still many more to catch that are living in the walls and ceiling of the Toledo home.

TAHS says they were living in deplorable conditions. The walls and floors of the house were covered in feces.

Many of the cats are missing most, if not all of their teeth, and some have lost eyes.

Right now, they're in the care of the humane society and are in need of a lot of medical care.

Officers will continue to go back to the location until they know all of the cats have been removed.

Because of the sudden increase, TAHS is asking for donations of canned cat food, specifically because many of the cats have little to no teeth.
