FLORIDA (WTVG) - Hurricane Irma knocked out power for millions of Florida Power & Light customers.

Toledo Edison linemen are aiding in the Florida restoration process.

Dave Poska, the Toledo Edison Director of Operation Services said, 10 linemen and support personnel are taking orders from FPL. Eight more linemen and staff members left Thursday to help in Florida.

Poska said, "we started working as soon as we got here and each one of our crews probably restored at least 20-30 customers each."

Crews from the Toledo area will remain in Florida for two weeks.
