Toledo Express reopens after plane slid on runway

Toledo Express has reopened.
UPDATE: 9:30 p.m.
The plane that slid to the south edge of the runway earlier tonight at Toledo Express Airport has been towed off the runway, but the airport remains closed as it "evaluates the airfield conditions."

A spokesperson says this does impact an American Airlines flight coming in from Charlotte, NC. It was supposed to land at Toledo Express at 9:56 p.m. and is currently delayed.
A spokesperson with the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority says the Toledo Express Airport is closed after a plane slid to the edge of the runway.

Holly Kemler says Allegiant flight 2117 was on runway 25 preparing to depart to Orlando.

Kemler says as the plane taxied out, prior to departure, the pilot encountered icy conditions and the plane slid on the north side of the runway and got stuck in the snow in the south edge of the runway.

As of 8:45p.m., Toledo Express is closed as crews work to move the aircraft.

There are no injuries and it isn't clear how long the airport will be closed.
