TOLEDO (WTVG) - A fire that forced the evacuation of the Five Points Apartment Complex Thursday afternoon has been ruled accidental by the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department Fire Investigative Unit.
According to a report, a contractor was installing new air conditioning condensers in close proximity to an outside wall. A line the contractor was "sweating" ruptured and flashed with fire, entering the outside wall and quickly traveling up all three floors into the open attic.
On Thursday, TFRD crews were on the scene of the two-alarm fire in the 2600 block of Tremainsville Rd.
Crews were dispatched just before noon to the Five Point Apartment Complex. Fire was found on all three floors of the building.
According to a resident, she heard commotion from upstairs and people running down the stairs. When she opened the door, another resident said there was a fire and to get out.
There were no injuries reported.
