Mother and child no longer missing according to TPD

Toledo, OHIO (WTVG) - Toledo Police say a mother and her daughter who were reported missing over the weekend have been found.

Police say Amira Safi, 17, made contact with Toledo Police Missing Persons Unit on Monday and that she and her 3-year-old daughter, Amiyah are now no longer considered missing.

Detectives began searching for Safi and her daughter over the weekend when they believed she was with the woman's boyfriend, Timothy Palmer, who is also 21.

An Amber Alert was not issued in the search and it was unclear if the woman and child were in danger. Police also posted a photo of a red car that looks similar to one the adults might be traveling in.

The teen's mother released this statement to 13abc Sunday evening:

"Amira, I love you and miss you so much. Please come home with Amiyah. Your nephew's and myself are very worried about you guys. You both mean more than the world to us."
