TOLEDO (WTVG) - The Ohio Department of Education has given Toledo Public Schools an F when it comes to overall performance. The state released its report cards for all districts Thursday. The grades are based on six components: achievement, progress, gap closing, improving at-risk K-3 readers, graduation rate and prepared for success. The highest grade TPS earned in any category is a D.
Ottawa Hills received an A grade in every category. The district did not receive a grade for the "improving at-risk K-3 readers" because there are not enough students to evaluate that aspect. Perrysburg earned an overall A, though the state gave the district a C on how well the schools prepare students for future opportunities.
Here is a look at overall grades from other local districts:
Anthony Wayne: B
Bowling Green: B
Washington Local: C
