TOLEDO (WTVG) - Fourth of July is fast approaching and Toledo is preparing a host of events to help you celebrate on of the nation's biggest holidays. Fourth in the 419, presented by Owns Corning, will stretch one of the most exciting nights of the year into seven straight days of family fun and activities in downtown Toledo.

The event kicks off on June 28th and will feature multiple downtown concerts, as well as six Mudhens games featuring three post-game fireworks displays. Family friendly events will take place at Imagination Station, Metroparks Toledo, The National Museum of the Great Lakes, and others.

The whole celebration will be capped off on the 4th with the Toledo's Day in the Sun event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the famous boxing match between Jess Willard and Jack Dempsey, and will finish off with the Fourth in the 419 Fireworks display from International Park, along the Maumee River. The display will be synchronized to music and broadcast by iHeartRadio on 101.5 The River (WRVFFM). Promenade Park and Hensville Park will host free public viewing parties with live entertainment leading up to the fireworks show. Fleetwood's Tap Room, Holy Toledo Tavern, and The Heights at Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel will hold rooftop viewing parties and Imagination Station will offer a riverfront viewing party at the H2O Café patio. The event will be held, rain or shine.

"The city of Toledo is really excited about the Fourth in the 419. This will be an incredible seven days of fun for our community and I want to thank all of our partners and the downtown businesses helping to make this happen," Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said. "We hope this will be a record-breaking year for attendance downtown at Toledo's Independence Day festivities."
