DTE customers in Monroe woke up without power this morning following a transformer fire just after 4:30 Friday morning. That transformer is located outside the tractor supply on North Telegraph and the outage affected more than 2,500 customers.
Fire crews responded to that fire and were able to put it out quickly. According to DTE, when their repair crew responded to the scene the damage was not as extensive as they were expecting and they were able to repair it much faster than anticipated.
Power was restored at 6:42am.
