Troopers arrest suspect accused of abducting a 15-year-old girl

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) - A man from El Salvador is facing charges stemming from accusations he kidnapped a 15-year-old girl.

State troopers pulled the Juan Carlos Morales-Pedraza over for a traffic violation on the Ohio Turnpike Tuesday. Lucas County Jail record show the suspect s charged with Abduction with a sexual motivation and being held on an immigration detainer. Additional charges are pending.

Troopers tell 13abc 35-year-old suspect was taking the girl from Chicago to New Jersey. According to authorities, he allegedly forced the girl to perform sexual acts on him. Neither the suspect nor the victim were able to speak English. A patrol translator assisted at the scene.

Troopers determined the girl was reported missing in New Jersey. Stay with 13abc for updates.

The victim was transported to the hospital for medical care and further investigation. The Lucas County Juvenile Protective Services, along with the Lake Township Police Department, Ohio Investigative Unit, and the N.J. Division of Child Protection and Permanency, have been assisting in the investigation.
