TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Two people were injured, one seriously, and a driver arrested following a serious car accident on Glendale Road in Toledo early Thursday.
According to Toledo Police the car was travelling East on Glendale when the driver lost control at at Oak Hill Ct.. The car went off the road, hit a curb, then a bench, then a tree, which split the car in half.
Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger, Ryan Benham, suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The driver, Justin Kekes, fled the scene and was later found in his home suffering minor injuries. He was taken to a local hospital and placed under arrest for "Stopping After Accidents."
Police say alcohol is suspected as a factor in the accident but the investigation is ongoing.
