Two seriously injured after car pulls out in front of motorcycle on US-20

LYONS, Ohio (WTVG) - A crash on U.S. Highway 20 in Fulton County seriously injures two people on a motorcycle Friday night.

Ohio State Patrol says that shortly before 6 p.m., a 2008 G6 headed westbound on US-20, driven by Jazalynn Ackerman, 19, of Holgate, Ohio, was turning left on to County Road 10-3.

Authorities say she failed to yield to a Yamaha motorcycle traveling east on US-20, and ended up striking the motorcycle.

The motorcycle was being driven by Randy Hardee Jr., 32, of Fayette, Ohio. Taylor Bentley, 27, also of Fayette, and Hardee were both ejected from the motorcycle.

Bentley was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The OSHP says helmet use for Hardee is unknown.

The riders suffered serious injuries and were flown to Toledo hospital.

Ackerman was wearing a seat belt, and suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Fulton County Hospital.

US-20 was closed as crews worked to clear the scene.

Alcohol and drug use are not suspected in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
