UT Homecoming Parade prompts road closures, parking restrictions Saturday morning

Happy Homecoming, Rockets! In conjunction with the University of Toledo's big homecoming parade, there will be a number of road closures and parking restrictions along the route to keep both participants and spectators safe.

The parade steps off at 10:30 Saturday morning from Parking Lot #13 on UT's main campus. It will travel north on Campus Road, east on Bancroft Street, north on Cheltenham Road, west on Christie Street, south on Middlesex Drive, east on Bancroft Street and south on Campus Drive to finish up at Parking Lot #13.

So how does this impact parking? As parade participants get ready, parking lot 12, east of the Law Center, and parking lot 13, in front of the West Parking Garage, will be closed starting 4:00 p.m Friday. through 1:00 p.m Saturday. Lot 14, between MacKinnon and Memorial Field House, will be impacted until the parade passes through from 8:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m Saturday.

Drivers will be able to park in the West Parking Garage before the parade, but they will not be able to exit until the end of the parade, which is approximately 1:00 p.m.

During the parade, the entrances to Campus Drive and West Towerview Boulevard will also be closed. Drivers are encouraged to use the following lots:

- Lot 1N by McMaster Hall

- Lot 1S by Health and Human Services

- Lot 2 in front of the East Parking Garage

- Lot 17 by Driscoll

- Lot 19 west of the North Engineering Building

- Lot 20 south of Palmer Hall

- Lot 25 by Rocket Hall

- Lot 26 by Main Campus Medical Center

- East Parking Garage
