WHITEHOUSE, Ohio (WTVG) -- Patriots packed a new park designed as a space to honor those who have served our country.

Veterans Memorial Park is at 6710 Providence St. in downtown Whitehouse, Ohio. According to a news release, the park is meant to provide "a solemn, beautiful space to remember and honor all those who have served in the armed forces of the United States of America and all first responders. Engraved pavers will showcase personal dedications in support of loved ones who have served, and one section will be devoted to those killed in action."

This morning's dedication ceremony featured guest speakers, including Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur. There were also performances by the Anthony Wayne band and choir.

Veterans Memorial Park was the result of a joint project between Destination Whitehouse, Inc. and the Village of Whitehouse.
