Victims of Western Union scams could get money back

TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - If you’ve been a victim of a scam connected to Western Union, you might be eligible for some money back.

Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine’s office is now accepting application for people to potentially recover some money from these scams. That money is coming from a $586 million fund with the Department of Justice.

People who are eligible would have been affected by one of these scams from January of 2004 until January 19th of 2017.

Some people have already received a claim form. That would be people who have reported one of these scams to the Attorney General’s office.
