A festival promising spectacular sights and sounds arrives in downtown Toledo and continues throughout the weekend.

Momentum - Hot Glass, Cool Music features three days of music and art. It's the first festival in the newly renovated Promenade Park.

Friday evening, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and a Prince tribute band presents the Music of Prince in Promenade Park. The 7:30pm concert is free to the public.

The “Glass, Music, & Art Festival” features more than 20 glass and design vendors plus food trucks, and public art in Promenade Park. The festival is free and takes place Saturday, September 16 and Sunday September 17 at Promenade Park.

There is also “Momentum Juried Competition & Exhibition” which will award to $10,000 to artists working in glass and glass-related materials. The arts exhibition takes place at the Secor Building.

One exhibit sure to grab attention is the "Once Upon a Place" interactive installation that utilizes phone booths to relate immigrants' stories to the public. Visitors enter a booth, pick up the receiver, and listen to personal stories of immigration. A phone book inside details the personal stories and allows visitors to write their own. Phone booths will be installed at three sites: Promenade Park, Toledo Lucas County Public Library and at the University of Toledo.
