TOLEDO (WTVG) - The devastation from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma left students and staff of Waite High School wanting to help.

The Head Varsity Volleyball Coach Sydney Fuller said a week is all they had to collect donations. Those donations were brought to Monday's volleyball match.

Items like toothpaste, blankets, diapers, tools and much more will go to people in Houston, Texas.

Cristina Lorton the Athletic Director at Waite High School said, "It made me have a huge smile. So hopefully we'll be able to put a couple of smiles on other people's faces with just some of these simple items."

The coach said Toledo Memorial Park will handle the donations.
