Waterville man charged after deadly work zone accident

MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) - A Waterville man has been charged in the death of a road worker in 2018. On Friday, a Lucas County grand jury indicted Michael Massucci on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Investigators say he hit and killed Nathan Soto, 42, on US 24 near Fallen Timbers last August.

Soto worked for Gerken Paving. Troopers say he was putting lane markings on the newly paved road and it was the last stretch of the project.

Troopers say witnesses told them the driver wasn't speeding or driving erratically.

No court date for Massucci has been set.
