TOLEDO (WTVG) - Whole Foods Market is officially heading to Toledo. After much anticipation, the company announced Wednesday that the location at 3420 Secor Road will officially open on Wednesday, August 7th. Doors will open at 9 AM on that date.
They'll celebrate the opening of the new location by offering customers free coffee, pastries and music ahead of the opening that morning. The first 200 customers will also receive a custom Whole Foods Market Toledo canvas bag and a savings card valued between $5-100.
Five percent of sales on opening day will also go to benefit Toledo GROWs, a non-profit dedicated to supporting community gardens in the area.
“We can’t wait to welcome our neighbors into their new Whole Foods Market,” said Ben Moher, Store Team Leader. “We look forward to providing the Toledo community with access to the highest quality food, grocery and body care products and a range of items sourced from local producers.”
As for the store itself, according to the company, the new location will boast features that include a 24-foot area devoted to fresh fruit and veggies, a full-service butcher department, seafood department, specialty foods, beauty and body care, and a wide selection of locally produced beer and wine.
As part of its opening, the store is also looking to fill approximately 100 full and part time job openings.
