Suspect arrested, charged in weekend murder

Toledo, OHIO (WTVG) - Toledo police have arrested Paris Williamson, 27, in connection to a deadly weekend shooting.

Police say the victim, Monica Meyers, 55, was a passenger in a car, when suspects in another vehicle started shooting.

According to police, Meyers died at the hospital.

Police say around 2:30 Saturday morning, there was a shooting near N. Detroit and Alexis.

Detectives believe suspects in a vehicle fired several rounds at another vehicle, where Meyers was the passenger.

Monica's daughter is talked exclusively with 13abc.

She says her mother had three kids and nine grandkids. She describes Monica as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and a biker who loved to travel.

She says she was in the car with her mom, boyfriend and brother leaving Andrea's Pub after celebrating a family birthday party.

The daughter's boyfriend was driving on Alexis Road headed back toward a hotel.

She says a white Envoy pulled out in front of their car and almost him them. Then her brother yelled at them to "watch it."

**The victim's daughter corrected the type of car from a white Yukon to a white Envoy the day after the original story aired.**

The four males in the other car yelled back, and then followed them to the hotel.

"As I was hitting 9-1...that's when the shots starting firing," said the victim's daughter.

The daughter says she heard ten shots fired, and men in the front and rear seats had guns.

She says one bullet went through her mom's arm and chest.

Monica's car then pulled in to the Stop & Go on Laskey and Bennett, and the Envoy drove off.

"My mom had bubbles coming out of her mouth, so I turned her on her side and I tried to put pressure on her wound," said the victim's daughter.

The daughter says telling her kids what happened has not been easy.

"I hugged all of them I said 'I'm OK, I'm here, I can hold you, I'm OK,' and they all stopped and looked at me and went, 'but what?' and I said 'Grandma Monica didn't make it' and all my kids lost it," said the victim's daughter.
