The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has identified a body found in Lake Erie as that of a Detroit woman.

Investigators identified the woman as 40-year-old Jennifer Chambers Monday afternoon.

Police say Chambers was last seen on December 11, 2016 after her vehicle was submerged in the Detroit River.

According to Ottawa County Coroner Daniel Cadigan, the body was found about four miles offshore near Davis-Besse nuclear plant on April 1.

An autopsy performed by the Lucas County Corner shows Chambers died from drowning. Cadigan previously told 13abc that there were no signs of external trauma.
