MILLBURY (WTVG) - The Healing Barn first opened its doors about twenty years ago. The rescue takes in abandoned, neglected and abused horses and donkeys. It is one of only a few equine rescues in the region.

The farm also helps people. There are programs for victims of abuse and domestic violence.

The Healing Barn open house is Saturday, September 28th.The farm is on Bradner Road in Millbury. It's from 12-3. Admission is free, and everyone is invited.

There will all kinds of family-friendly fun including a horse parade, music, games, food, face painting, a bouncy house and raffles.

While many of the animals find forever homes, there are ten that live at the rescue permanently. All the money will be used to help care for the animals.
