The Oilers hold a 3-1 lead in the all-time series against Alderson Broaddus dating back to the 1974-75 campaign when Findlay came away with an 83-77 victory.
Earlier this season the OIlers claimed a 92-75 win over the Battlers on the road. The Oilers shot 52.3 percent (34-of-65) from the floor and held a 40-29 advantage on the boards. They dominated the Battlers in the paint, outscoring Alderson Broaddus 46-22.
Alex White had a monster day for the Oilers, scoring a career-high 35 points to go along with a career-high 15 rebounds. He made 13-of-17 attempts from the floor for his seventh double-double of the season and became the first Findlay player to grab 15 or more rebounds since former Oilers star Kyle Hunt snatched 15 against Gannon University on Feb. 26, 2000.
Trey Smith also had a great game, scoring 22 points to go along with five assists. Smith made 7-of-11 shot attempts and finished 6-of-10 from long range. His six three pointers set a new career-high.
Aaron Overhiser contributed seven points and five rebounds while Chazz George had seven points and four rebounds.
The Oilers are 25-3 on the season and have been led by Alex White who is averaging 18.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.
Aaron Overhiser is chipping in 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while Trey Smith has made a team-high 63 three pointers and is averaging 11.4 points per contest.
Anthony Masterlasco is also averaging in double figures at 10.6 points per outing.
The Battlers are 13-15 on the season and are coming off of an 88-77 win over Cedarville on March 2.
Mike Davis leads the team and is averaging 17.4 points per game. Brandon Simmons (13.5), Tyler Golphin (11.3), Cove Campbell (10.9), Malik Bocook (10.7) and David Shriver (10.4) are also averaging in double figures.
Senior forward Alex White reached the 1,000 point plateau in the Oilers 85-59 win over Trevecca Nazarene on March 2. He now has 1,026 career points, the 43rd highest total in school history. He is chasing Aaron Robinson for 42nd on the all-time scoring list. Robinson scored 1,029 points from 2010-13.
Passing the Rock
Sophomore guard Tommy Schmock has set a new school record for assists in a season this year with 172. His mark eclipsed the previous record of 171, which was set by former Oilers All-American Dustin Pfeifer during the 2004-05 campaign.
As a team, the Oilers are nearing the season record for assists in a season. They have 499 assists this season and are close to breaking the record of 539, set by the 2017-18 squad.
