Carly Burkhardt is playing some great golf as she returns from a potentially fatal blood disorder. She spent more than two months in the hospital back in the summer of 2017.

This week in the inaugural Glass City Invitational the Furman golfer played three rounds at five over par and played 36 holes in one day for the first time since she was diagnosed.

Furman's Natalie Srinivasan earned medalist honors with a five-under par 211 (70-70-71.

Senior Saranlak Tumfong led the Rockets by firing an even-par 72 to register a Top 20 finish in an event that included eight teams that advanced to post-season play last year.

"Sara is a competitor and she loves this environment," Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "She's really grasping the type of player she can become and that's exciting to see."
