Epic Walleye comeback falls short in Game 1

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo Walleye lose Game 1 of the Kelly Cup finals 4-3 to the Newfoundland Growlers in overtime Saturday night.

The Walleye were down 3-0 shortly into the third period before rattling off three goals and sending the game to overtime.

It was a short-lived comeback, though.

The Growlers' Josh Kestner scored his second goal of the night to grab the 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 is tomorrow, starting at 5:30 p.m., with the teams heading to Toledo for Game 3 on Wednesday.
