The Bowling Green State University track and field team busted out at the Blizzard Buster. The Falcons opened the outdoor season by winning three events, hauling in 19 top-five finishes, and gathering five Mid-American Conference automatic qualifying marks at Miami University's Blizzard Buster Saturday to open the outdoor season.

Three different Falcons won the three throws events and BGSU took the top three spots in two of them. The Falcons earned five automatic qualifying marks to the MAC Championships in those three events with Aliyah Gustafson picking up a pair.

MAC AUTO BIDS
• Kaila Butler set a new personal best in the hammer throw and won the event with a mark of 204-feet-6 (62.33m). That distance puts her second all-time at BGSU, behind only three-time First Team All-American Brooke Pleger, and ranks her among the best in the nation in the early-going of the season.
• Aliyah Gustafson also earned a MAC auto bid in the hammer throw, finishing second at 180-9 (55.09m).
• In the shot put, redshirt freshman Zaresha Neal moved to fifth in school history in the event in her first collegiate outdoor meet. She won the event at 50-10.25 (15.50m) to earn a MAC auto bid.
• In the discus, Gustafson got her second auto bid of the day with a distance of 164-6 (50.14m).
• Daija Young was second in discus and also earned an automatic qualifying bid at 157-4 (47.97m), a new personal best for her.

• In the triple jump, Brianna Richard moved into the top 10 in program history with a leap of 37-feet-3.75 (11.37m).
• While Daija Young earned a MAC automatic qualifying bid in the discus, she also set a new personal best in the shot put at 43-5.75 (13.25m).
• Ryen Draper finished second in the 200 and third in the 100. Draper's time of 12.24 seconds was a wind-aided personal best.
