Falcons To Play Home-And-Home Series With Iowa State

The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department has announced that the Falcon Football team will play a home-and-home series with Iowa State in the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

The series will begin in Ames, Iowa Sept. 19, 2026 before Doyt L. Perry Stadium takes center stage the next season. The Falcons will host Iowa State Sept. 18, 2027. This is the only future home game currently scheduled against a team from one of the autonomous five conferences.

"Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard and I discussed the potential of this series and we are thrilled that we were able to make it happen," BGSU Athletics Director Bob Moosbrugger said. "This brings an exciting non-conference game to The Doyt for our team and our loyal alumni and fans."

BGSU most recently hosted Maryland from the Big Ten on Sept. 8 and defeated Indiana at home 45-42 on Sept. 13, 2014.

Bowling Green has one win against current Big 12 schools, defeating Kansas on the road in 2002. In that same season, BGSU earned a home win against Missouri when the Tigers were still a member of the Big 12.

The Falcons do have one other Big 12 school scheduled in the future as Bowling Green will play at Kansas State Sept. 7, 2019.
