Lourdes finished in 16th place over the weekend at the Orange & Black Classic in a field of 29 schools at Poelking Lanes South in Centerville, Ohio.
The Gray Wolves finished with a total pin fall of 6,635, 23 pins behind Ball State and 52 pins ahead of Urbana. Host Pikeville led the way with a total score of 8,175 pins.
“Briah Wesby (Chicago, Ill./Morgan Park H.S.) led the pack, striking away and holding them up all day,” head coach Torrie Bartalone said afterwards. “I think she has truly found her role on the team. Bryana Twining (Lima, Ohio/Bath H.S.) and Jordyn Stewart (Elida, Ohio/Elida H.S.) helped build the bridge to improve as the day went on. Overall this was a great weekend with much room to grow.”
Lourdes averaged 160.06 over Sunday’s 16-games of Baker format, improving in each of the four sets they bowled. The Gray Wolves finished with a 699 in the fourth set, including a high game of 198 begin the stanza.
The Gray Wolves will return to action next Saturday, traveling to Grandville, Mich. to bowl in the West Michigan Laker Classic. Action begins at 8:15 a.m. at Fairlanes.
