Carol Goncalves (Brazilia, Brazil/Sagrado Corcacao de Maria H.S.) earned both Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defender of the Week and Setter of the Week honors and Tylar Roberson (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart H.S.) was named the WHAC Attacker of the Week for their efforts last week.
Goncalves, who also earned WHAC Setter of the Week honors on Sept. 17, handed out 103 total assists (9.36/set) and tallied 56 digs (5.09/set) in victories over Rochester (Mich.), Cornerstone, and Aquinas. She also tallied nine kills, hit .381, recorded three service aces, and was involved in three blocks on the week.
The senior setter recorded double-doubles in all three matches on the week. She began with 38 assists and 19 digs against Rochester, added 37 helpers and 16 digs versus Cornerstone, and concluded the week with 28 assists and 21 digs in the win over Aquinas.
Roberson earned her first Attacker of the Week honor of her career. She registered 43 kills (3.91/set), 25 digs (2.27/set), and hit .235 in the three wins while adding five blocks and three service aces.
The sophomore outside hitter began the week hitting .353 with 15 kills against Rochester. She followed that effort up with a double-double, 18 kills and 11 digs, while swinging at a .326 clip against Cornerstone. Roberson concluded her week with 10 kills, nine digs, and four blocks versus Aquinas.
Lourdes (11-1, 8-1 WHAC) returns to the court on Wednesday evening, traveling to Lima, Ohio to face Northwestern Ohio. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside of Racer Gymnasium.
