With a team full of new faces, the Lourdes men’s cross country team showed signs of growth on Friday evening as it competed in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic.
The Gray Wolves saw six athletes cross the finish line en route to a successful team race that saw multiple personal bests.
Miami (Ohio) claimed top honors in the team standings with 58 points, while Shawnee State led all NAIA competitors and finished second overall with 86 points, and Northern Kentucky finished third with 113 points.
Lane Trapp (Alexandria, Ala./Alexandria) paced Lourdes in an impressive season-best time of 28:37.4.
Kevin Huang (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview) was the runner-up for the Gray Wolves, falling just shy of his season-best time, while Jacob Supina (Sandusky, Ohio/Saint Mary Central Catholic) added a top-three finish for Lourdes in a new season-best time.
Daniel Bautista-Macias (Toledo, Ohio/Waite) saw a significant season-best time as he turned in a fourth place finish among Gray Wolf competitors, while Mike Andrzejewski (Sterling Heights, Mich./Stevenson) and Noah Nuno (Rancho Cucamonga. Calif./Rancho Cucamonga) finished fifth and sixth, respectively among Lourdes athletes, each with a new season-best time.
The Gray Wolves will be back in action on October 20th as they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to compete in the Great Lakes Challenge at Riverside Park.
