Oilers Win 86-61 Over Cardinals

The University of Findlay women's basketball team earned a convincing win over Wheeling Jesuit University on Dec. 30 in the Croy Physical Education Center. The victory gives the Oilers an 8-3 record on the season.

Senior forward Anna Hintz led the Oilers with 23 points and seven rebounds while senior guard Jenna Stegmaier had 12 points, four assists and three rebounds.

Senior center Christa Puthoff reached double figures with ten points and added four rebounds while senior guard Elissa Ellerbrock nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Senior guard Lauren Ruth contributed eight points off the bench, senior guard Allie Thobe had six points and five assists, and senior forward Dana Fricke posted five points and seven rebounds.

The Oilers shot 44.9 percent (31-of-69) from the floor and held a 46-35 advantage on the glass during the game. They also came away with 13 steals and recorded 16 assists.

Findlay will be back at it again on Jan. 3 when they hit the road to face Davis & Elkins College at 5:30 p.m.
