OXFORD, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University hockey team began their 2019-20 campaign with a seven to four victory over the Redhawks of Miami University. Bowling Green would outshoot Miami 42 to 19 in the win.

Head Coach Ty Eigner would tally his first win at the helm of the Orange and Brown, and junior Cameron Wright would tally four goals netting his first career hat trick in the process.

The first period would remain scoreless as both teams settled in. Miami would strike first in the contest before the Falcons would soar back to answer with two goals from Wright. Connor Ford and Evan Dougherty would find the back of the net prior to Miami scoring another.

Cameron Wright would complete his hat trick before two goals from Miami. Wright would tally one more to keep the foot on the gas before Alec Rauhauser would add an empty netter. Bowling Green will host Miami in December for the second game of the series.

BGSU is back in action next weekend when they host the Ice Breaker Tournament at the Huntington Center.
